Materials and Processes in Drawing and Making

Brief | project

Visually we want you to be experimental and to take risks. This is not an easy project if you are really pushing your means of visual production and developing a working process from which you develop your work. We would like You to understand your material, choose one or few type of tape that you are comfortable to work with. To start with we would like to conduct a visual research aiming to outline the concept of shape and tape and its practice in communication design.

Stage II We would like you to develop your ideas in your sketchbook. We recommend that you use any tape that is available to you, can be masking tape, photo tape, packing tape or vinyl roles. As well we would like you to take notes, photos, and write comments about each idea in your sketchbook. As well upload the digital files to your BLOG.

Stage III After you complete stage two. We would like you to select two final image from your book and produce one colour tape art that can be, installed in a specific location of your choice. This can be billboard, public space or private space. Any of you may utilise any media available to you without need for any induction to a process.

You are required to find inspiration from a range of source material both in reference material in a range of personally relevant books, newspapers, the web, collected items etc. It is important that there is evidence of a record of this within a research file/sketchbook to accompany any finished work produced for this project.
